Board Member Expectations and Responsibilities

The purpose of RGH Foundation is to solicit donations and financial support for the use and benefit of the Rio Grande Hospital; and to accept, acquire, own, hold, sell, convey or otherwise dispose of property, real or personal, tangible or intangible for the benefit of the Rio Grande Hospital.

Our continued success depends on the personal commitment and active involvement in fundraising planning, training, and activities of this select group of individuals, who bring personal resources and ability to support the Foundation’s purpose. Foundation Board members are expected to be advocates on behalf of Rio Grande Hospital, enthusiastic communicators of its mission and vision, and to play an integral role in our programs.

Advocacy and Personal Involvement

Support the Foundation’s purposes, strategies, by-laws, and programs, while knowing its strengths and needs.

Serve the Foundation as a whole rather than any special interest group or constituency.

Board Meeting Attendance
Prepare for and participate in the six annual regular board meetings.

Suggest agenda items periodically for board meetings.

Participation
Actively participate in appropriate organizational activities relating to Planned Giving Campaigns and special events.

Assist the Foundation by implementing fund raising strategies through personal influence with others.

Confidentiality
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information regarding donors.

Foundation Board Recruitment
Identify and suggest candidates for the board who will effectively represent the ideals and purpose of the Foundation.
